IT WAS AROUND TWO in the morning when I finally pulled up at the Polka Dot Club. It seemed to be in full swing. I inquired at the bar about how I could get a hold of Sanders. The barman said he hadn't seen him all night. He said he thought he saw Sanders leave with one of the girls earlier. I asked if she had come back and was working tonight.
